Authors from across the area will champion a book that has impressed them during an Orange Prize for Fiction Debate. Waterstones bookstore, in partnership with Windsor Library, will hold an event on Wednesday, May 30 at the Bachelors Acre facility at 8pm. Six novels have been short-listed. The winner will be announced when the national Orange Prize for Fiction victor is declared.
A portrait of a smiling Home Secretary was unveiled in Twyford last week. The portrait of Theresa May, by Twyford artist Terri Jones, was displayed at the Artistseye exhibition at the United Reformed Church over the Bank Holiday weekend and her husband Philip said it 'captured the real her'. Mrs May visited the exhibition on Friday and said she'd like to buy a copy of the portrait.
