A portrait of a smiling Home Secretary was unveiled in Twyford last week. The portrait of Theresa May, by Twyford artist Terri Jones, was displayed at the Artistseye exhibition at the United Reformed Church over the Bank Holiday weekend and her husband Philip said it 'captured the real her'. Mrs May visited the exhibition on Friday and said she'd like to buy a copy of the portrait.

Dig Deep logo

Take flight and help support Maidenhead's art centre. An auction of promises is being held in aid of the Altwood Road arts centre on Saturday, May 19. Among the host of prizes up for grabs is a flight from White Waltham Airfield. The fundraising event is being organised by Maidenhead and District Arts Council (MDAC) as part of the Dig Deep campaign launched by the Advertiser and Norden Farm a year ago. Its aim is to help boost funding for the venue which has lost its £143,000 annual grant from Arts Council England.
