Popular community warden in Chalvey dies

A popular community warden is being mourned by family, friends and colleagues.

Joe Byrne, 53, died on Friday after a short illness.

The father-of-three had been a community warden since May 2002 and was well-known in Chalvey, which was his patrol patch.

Cllr Shafiq Chaudhry, commissioner for community and leisure, said: "Joe epitomised the community warden role. He was part of the community, dedicated, well-known and committed to the local area.

"He really made a difference to people's lives and neighbourhoods and he will be sorely missed."
