China treatment to help Benny walk again
Progress has already been made as a Farnham Royal resident undergoes treatment which could help him walk again.
Former Burnham Upper School pupil Benny Hutton, and his mum, Beverley Reilly, of Devonshire Green, flew to China earlier this month.
The 23-year-old is now halfway through his stem cell replacement treatment.
Mum Beverley said: "Benny has had four lots of stem cells so far, and he has about four hours of physio a day, he also has speech therapy and acupuncture.
"Benny is working very hard, the physio is very tough, but rewarding. They have had him standing in a frame, which he is strapped into for about one hour a day, which is wonderful to see, and I must admit has brought a few tears to my eyes."
The former Burnham Leopards footballer is learning to control his arms and torso better through physiotherapy.
He was working as a barman in Greece four years ago when he was found unconscious at the bottom of concrete steps near his apartment.
The accident left him with partial brain damage and Ataxia - a rare condition that affects the neurological system and causes him to shake, the stem cell treatment could help control the Ataxia.
