Catering van at Pinewood goes up in flames

A catering lorry carrying gas cyclinders was destroyed in a fire at multi-million pound Pinewood Studios last night.

The van that supplies actors and film set workers with refreshments was yards away from the filming studios at the Iver heath site in Pinewood Road.

Smoke billowed over Pinewood and two buildings were also badly damaged in the blaze at 10.15pm.

Fire crews from Slough, Langley, Gerrards Cross and London spent more than three hours tackling it.

Austin Miller, blue watch manager, said the fire service is not sure what caused the blaze, in the back of the lorry.

He added there were LPG oven gas cylinders on the lorry and cooking had been done on it that day.

The new James Bond film Skyfall starring Daniel Craig is being filmed at the site's James Bond set.
