Fraudster ordered to pay back more than £95,000
A fraudster who nearly bust her Iver employer has been made to pay back more than £95,000.
Jane Burford, of Newnham Close, Northolt, Middlesex, was ordered at Oxford Crown Court on Monday to repay £87,226 and £8,483 in compensation.
The 47-year-old was found guilty in November of defrauding Palmac Electrical Services Ltd, in Syke Ings, where she worked as an office manager and accounts clerk.
Her role included maintaining records and settling invoices to and from traders.
The loss from the fraudulent transactions revealed 20 unauthorised bank deposits had been made to Burford from the electrical service firm's accounts.
All the frauds took place between May 2010, a month after she started her employment with Palmac, until August 2011.
In November Burford was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court to 21 months in jail for fraud by abuse of position.
She must pay the cash back by August 13 or will face a further two years in prison, which would be served consecutively to her current sentence.
