Dog and hamsters perish in flat fire
A heartbroken mum returned home to find the family's dog and two hamsters had perished in a fire just before noon today.
The blaze happened in a flat in Trelawney Avenue, Langley, seriously damaging the kitchen and lounge.
Fire investigation officers were still there this afternoon, although the cause of the blaze is not believed to be suspicious.
The occupier of the flat is believed to have two young children who were at school when the fire started. Volunteers from the Red Cross have been looking after the family.
