Langley Community Hall to be sold
The new owners of Langley Community Hall will be the Langley Campus of East Berkshire College.
Slough Council chiefs decided at the Cabinet meeting yesterday evening to sell it off, in spite of concerns expressed by opposition councillors.
The Hall, off Langley Road and adjoining the college campus, was offered for sale after a review of all the assets held by the council.
Council leader Rob Anderson said: “The hall is an ageing building and duplicates community provision in the area.
“The much newer Langley Pavilion is located just across the road.
“East Berkshire College is well established in the area and will be using the hall as part of their plans for a centre of excellence, while their desire to expand educational opportunities reaffirms their commitment to the town.”
