Brave Amelia, 6, fights rare brain disorder

A six-year-old girl is fighting an ongoing battle against a rare brain disorder which is baffling experts.

Western House Primary School pupil Amelia Sherratt, of Richards Way, Slough, has undergone 10 major operations in the last two years.

Despite the traumatic experience, her proud mum Joanna Sherratt, 35, said her daughter had shown 'amazing strength' and 'vigilance'.

Now her father is running the London Marathon to raise awareness of her condition and the support they have had from John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

"I want to make people aware of what she's been through and raise money to help other people like Amelia, especially all of her friends on the Robin's Ward," he said.
