Heroin gang member gets 15-year jail sentence
Another member of a drugs gang who attempted to import heroin worth £4million into the UK has been jailed.
Mudassor Asif, of St Pauls Avenue, Slough, was given a 15-year sentence at Reading Crown Court on Friday.
The 32-year-old is the eighth member of the Slough-based criminal network, who attempted to traffic 16.9kgs of the class A drug in a consignment of duvets and clothing on a flight from Pakistan, to be jailed.
Tariq Gulfishan, of Freemans Close, Stoke Poges, and his criminal enterprise arranged to bring the heroin into the UK in June 2011.
The 37-year-old, who got a thirteen and a half year jail sentence, used trusted lieutenants including Asif to organise the importation.
Mezan Miah, 28, of Azealea Court, Bradford, will be sentenced at a later date.
