Funeral date set for man who died while being restrained by police
The funeral of a Slough man who died in hospital while being restrained by police will be held next month.
Philmore Mills, 57, of Tamar Way, Langley, died on Tuesday, December 27, after police were called to a disturbance in a ward at Wexham Park Hospital.
Police officers already at the site were called by staff security at 3am to help them restrain Mr Mills, who had been taken to hospital suffering from pneumonia.
Police, who used handcuffs, said he became unresponsive and died shortly before 4am.
The service will be held at St Mary’s Church, Church Street, Slough, on Friday, February 3, at 1.45pm followed by a cremation at Slough Crematorium at 3pm.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) launched an investigation on December 29.
