Get involved in borough-wide litter picks

gen_wbclogoAnnual ‘Love Your Neighbourhood’ litter picks will take place across the borough during March.

The borough-wide picks are now in their fourth year and community-minded residents will again be out picking up rubbish in Sonning, Twyford, Wargrave, Dinton Pastures and Hurst.

Last year more than 600 bags of rubbish were collected across the borough.

Items found ranged from stolen number plates to a stolen pilot’s flight case.

Cllr Gary Cowan, executive member for environment, said: “Wokingham borough is a beautiful place but can occasionally, in certain areas, be spoilt by rubbish.

“The litter pick is a great chance for residents to make the borough a cleaner and brighter place to live and to give the community a sense of civic pride as well as raising awareness that litter is unacceptable."
