The jury went into deliberation at about 3pm today (Thursday) to consider their verdict for a man on trial for rape and attempted murder in a Slough Park.

Damian Kazimerczak, 19, of Salt Hill Way, Slough, stands accused of attempted murder, rape and GHB with intent, all of which he denies.

The prosecution says Kazimerczak attacked and attempted to strangle a woman in Salt Hill Park in the early hours of Monday, December 28.

Kazimerczak claims he paid for consensual sex with the woman and she was later attacked by an unknown person.

The trial began at Reading Crown Court on Monday, June 27.
