Many of MAC’s junior athletes competed at the Berkshire Counties Schools Championships in Palmer Park, Reading on Saturday.
Imogen Wilson was the pick of them, smashing her previous pb in the 300m to win gold by a healthy margin. In doing so she earned a place to compete for English Schools later this summer.
Many other MAC athletes were also on the podium, with Katie Losel taking bronze in the high jump with 1.45m – a new pb.
Raja Khan jumped to gold in the triple jump with a new pb of 11.89m while Javier Fimia (10.87m) and Abbie Jones (10.69m) took silver in their respective triple jump events.
Olivia Phelps was fourth in the 200m final and Josh Haggland fifth in the long jump.
MAC juniors continued to make steady progress in the Alder Valley competition, with Aimee Ghaja-Biamila managing a new pb of 4.56m in the shot and Ella Siddons gaining a pb of 2.30m in the long jump in the u11s events.
At u13s level there was a new pb of 4.23m in the long jump for Tamzin Bellamy. She also claimed a new best in the 75m with 10.8 seconds.
There were also pbs for Ruby Foyle in the 75m (11.7), 1,200m (4.41), Javelin (14.4m) and 600m (1.54) and Dylan Garrard in the 75m (13.1) and long jump (2.40m).
Hannah Britton was seventh overall in the u15s long jump with 4.62m and also claimed pbs in the 100m (14.6) and 200m (30.3). Katie Losel was sixth in the high jump with 1.35m. Imogen Wilson was third in the 100m (13.3) second in the 200m (26.8) and first in the 300m (42.5).
