The weather held out on Father’s Day as Maidenhead Thicket hosted London Welsh for the very first time.
A match played in good spirits throughout was won 106-85 by London Welsh, with David Crooks, Pauline Tuttle and Terry Davies (skip) playing the top rink for the home side.
The visiting captain, Professor Andrew Thomas, praised all involved for a competitive game and fun afternoon and also presented Thicket captain Tom Hanks with the London Welsh plaque.
Both clubs now hope to make the game a regular one on the bowls calendar.
