FOCUSED: Marlow's Paul Brzezicki bowls left-arm over in the quarter-final clash against Cookham Dean.
Wargrave through to the semi-finals of the Julian Cup after a surprisingly comfortable victory over Boyne Hill at the recreation Ground on Tuesday.
A slightly depleted Boyne Hill side could only manage 117-8 from their 20 overs on a slowish wicket, a target the hosts overcame for the loss of four wickets and with three overs spare.
Leo Bangs and Chris Shave batted well for the Hill, but decent knocks of 50 from Sam Bowers and 20 not out from Neal Robinson saw the villagers through to a rare last-four appearance.
Here they will face Burnham at Stoke Green on Tuesday, July 4 after the holders thrashed Taplow by 59 runs.
Hosts Burnham batted first amassing an excellent 163-6 in 20 overs.
The runs were shared around with Raja Abrar-Ur-Rehman making 25, while Karan Kumar and Harveer Gandam both also reached the 20s.
Taplow's reply was never given a strong platform and they were dismissed for 105 as Raja bagged three wickets and Muhammed Haroon took two.
There was also the possibility of a shock result in the top half of the draw as Chilterns League side Pinkneys Green hosted the Thames Valley League's Windsor, but this giant-killing failed to materialise.
The Green was asked to bat first by Windsor skipper Jayden Clark which proved a sound decision as the home side were skittled for 60.
They had reached 30-0 originally off three overs before limping to 45-5 and then all out 15 runs later, four lbw decisions going against the Green
Matt Lazarczuk took four wickets and Tom Hartridge three as Windsor dominated proceedings.
This dominance continued with the bat as they knocked off the runs in five overs for the loss of only one wicket.
Opener Kris Baumgartner and No.3 James Hawkes both scored in the 20s to ensure a comfortable success.
Windsor will face Cookham Dean, who beat Marlow by eight wickets (full report in this week's Advertiser), in the first semi-final on Tuesday, June 27.
