Fahim Qureshi smashed another century for North Maidenhead in Saturday’s 102-run win over High Wycombe 2nds.
The summer signing from Slough CC scored at just over a run a ball for his 126 on a good day for batting as the home side posted 327-7 from their 50 overs. The best of the supporting acts for North Maids was Usman Ilyas, who made 68 before falling to Sam Parry (1-63). Sahaan John, who again impressed with the ball for the home side, taking 4-46, produced a fine all-round display to finish unbeaten at the crease on 21 at the end.
Wycombe’s openers Aashi Zaib (28) and Teddy Casterton (15) put on 40 for the first wicket but their innings soon began to unravel with Faaez Shamsi (2-22) and John profiting.
Captain John Stevens was removed by Humza Majid for nought and, from 105-7, Wycombe finished on 197 all out after Sam Buckfield (32) and Sathees Chandrasegaram (52) put in belligerent lower-order efforts.
North Maids, level with Cove at the top on 80 points, visit Boyne Hill looking for a fifth straight win on Saturday.
