Habib Khan took six wickets as Taplow surprised Thames Valley Cricket League Division 3b high-flyers Wraysbury on Saturday.
Wraysbury, who had moved into playoff contention last week, struggled to deal with the bowling of Khan, as they fell 74-runs short of chasing down the Taplow target.
Having won the toss, Taplow elected to bat first and Muhammad Ali (50) and Yasir Khawaja (49) led the way with solid knocks to put the hosts in a commanding position. That was built on with Tauseef Kazmi’s 44 as Taplow constructed a strong innings with a competitive 254 run target.
Wraysbury struggled to get near as Khan kept them in check with his ever-reliable bowling as he took 6-70.
Jayesh Moaan (47) top scored for the visitors but it was not enough as Wraysbury’s chase came to an end in the middle of the 44th over with just 179 runs on the board.
