The festive season will be kicking off with a full programme of entertainment at Christmas light switch-on events in Eton and Windsor this week.

On Thursday, November 13, visitors will see panto star Kevin Cruise turn on the Christmas lights in Eton.

A carol concert at Eton College will take place before Father Christmas and his reindeer travel down Eton High Street to Jubilee Square to join Kevin for the switch-on.

A countdown will be held before the town fills with festive lights.

Afterwards, guests can browse a range of street stalls and enjoy food and drink at local pubs and restaurants.

There will be an opportunity to try Christmas mulled wine or beer from Windsor & Eton Brewery.

Youngsters will enjoy fun rides and get the chance to meet Santa.

Two days later, the streets of Windsor will light up with festive cheer as they switch on their Christmas lights on Saturday, November 15.

From 11.30am to 5.30pm, an action-packed schedule will see visitors enjoy children’s rides, Christmas market stalls and hot food stands in the town centre.

From 3pm, a host of festive performances will take place on the main stage outside Windsor Castle.

Performers will include the Upton House School Choir, The Rhodes Academy of Dance, Omari, the Glee Club UK - Windsor, and Windsor Music Upper Schools Big Band.

Stars of Theatre Royal’s panto Cinderella will be ready for the countdown and Christmas lights switch-on from 5.30pm.

The lights will also illuminate a tree donated by King Charles III.

The day will conclude with a community sing-a-long, led by James Manwaring and the Windsor Upper Schools music department.
