A new avenue of trees in Burnham Park has been funded by the filming of hit show Heartstopper.
Burnham Parish Council planted the trees to ‘enhance the route through the park’ for users, it said.
The new avenue features five copper beech and four oak trees which will grow and mature over time, providing ‘shade and further improving the park’, the council said.
Filming for the hit Netflix series Heartstopper has been taking place at various locations in Maidenhead, Windsor and Burnham over recent years.
The popular LGBTQ+ show, follows the story of Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring, who are both students at ‘Truham Grammar School for Boys’ in the fictional town of Truham.
Filming for the school scenes took place at the site of the former E-ACT Burnham Park Academy, which closed its doors in 2019.
Scenes were also shot in Burnham Park for the show.
The avenue has been named ‘Truham Row’ in recognition of the new trees being funded by the filming of the show.
The parish council has installed a sign featuring the name.
Burnham Park has been used as a filming location for several film and TV productions.
The parish council has more plans for ‘Truham Row’, including a memorial bench and lighting to boost safety, which it hopes to install soon.
