Slough Town come away with goalless draw against Tonbridge Angels in first game

Slough Town kicked off their 2025-26 campaign in the Enterprise National League South with a goalless draw away to Tonbridge Angels on Saturday.

The Rebels new signings Peter Ojemen, Adam Desbois, Kiki Oshilaja, Jaiden Drakes-Thomas, Reiss Greenidge, Jared Myers, Tyrique Clarke and Jordan Greenidge made their debuts.

While Josh Adepoju, Tarik Gidaree and Kit Elliott also enjoyed some game-time off the bench.

The team were off to a good start, with The Rebels stealing the ball on the edge of the box in the sixth minute.

Jordan Greenidge fed the ball to Myers in the box, whose shot hit the inside of the post.

In the eighth minute, Myers finds Jordan Greenidge at the near post, but Greenidge’s effort hits the other post.

Oshilaga’s header from Johnny Goddard’s freekick goes over the bar in the 14th minute, but the offside flag was up.

In the 38th minute, Jordan Greenidge and Myers combined for yet another attempt, but Myers effort was held by the Angels goalkeeper Jacob Adams.

The first half ended goalless for both sides.

Early in the second half, Goddard’s strike was blocked away as it went towards the right corner of the Angel’s goalkeeper Adams.

The Rebels kept the on pressure, producing corners and a near-miss from Drakes-Thomas who was close to connecting with a diving header. 

Angels goalkeeper Adams later saved a low effort from Drakes-Thomas from just outside the area, denying Slough the chance to take the lead in the 69th minute.

With just minutes left, Gidaree found himself in a shooting position, but his effort was denied and was out for a corner.

At full time, the score remained 0-0, with neither the Rebels or Tonbridge Angels hitting the back of the net.

The result leaves Slough Town in 17th position in the table with one point after one game.

The Rebels will play Hemel Hempstead Town at Arbour Park next on Saturday, August 16 (kick off 3pm).

Elsewhere, Burnham and Windsor & Eton FC were also playing in the Combined Counties League Premier Division North.

Burnham continued their winning streak at home at The 1878 Stadium as they won 1-0 over Kidlington with a strike from Jordan Brown in the 52nd minute on Saturday.

The Blues won 3-2 against Reading City at home on Wednesday, July 30 and kept the momentum going on Tuesday, August 5, winning 1-0 away to British Airways at Berkeley Fields.

The latest win leaves them top of the table with nine points after three games.

The side will face Windsor & Eton next in the Premier Division North at Stag Meadow on Saturday, August 23 (kick off 3pm).

Windsor & Eton FC also enjoyed a win this weekend with a 1-0 victory over Ardley United, following a strike by Alex Donville in the 39th minute at Stag Meadow.

This is the side’s second victory this season, after winning 2-0 against Hilltop on Tuesday, July 29.  

The latest result leaves Windsor & Eton in second place with six points after two games.

The Royalists will face Wallingford and Crowmarsh away on Tuesday, August 19 (kick off 7.45pm).
