Claires Court U14 45, St Edwards Oxford 0

Claires Court’s u14s A team booked their place in the fourth round of the National Cup with an emphatic 45–0 victory over St Edward’s College Oxford, pulling away from their rivals with a powerful second half showing.

Despite the tight scoreline at half-time, Claires Court were firmly in control throughout, managing territory well and dictating the tempo. Their pressure paid off early when outside centre Finlay Milner opened the scoring with a dazzling, weaving run that sliced through the defence. Milner proved instrumental again after the break, reading the game superbly to claim two interceptions, both finished with pace and composure to complete a deserved hat-trick.

The second half saw Claires Court's physicality come to the fore. Tommy Hall was a constant menace with ball in hand, crashing through multiple defenders and powering over for two forceful tries. His carries repeatedly bent the defensive line and helped swing momentum towards the visitors.

From the tee, Rory Martin delivered a flawless kicking performance, converting all six tries and adding a confidently struck penalty to round off a perfect day with the boot.

What truly separated the sides, however, was Claire’s Court’s relentless defensive effort. Wave after wave of Teddies attack was shut down with organisation, energy, and commitment. That defensive resolve laid the foundation for the second-half surge that ultimately blew the game open.

In the end, the 45–0 scoreline reflected a dominant, disciplined, and skilful team performance, one that sends Claires Court into the next round full of confidence and momentum. Claires Court host Stowe School in the next round.
