Marlow Hockey Club hosted Nordics HC in their inaugural Hils Farrar-Hockley Memorial Trophy match on Saturday.
Hils was a prominent member in both clubs over 30 years and the game was held to commemorate the passing of Marlow's former vice chairman.
A large crowd enjoyed an entertaining contest between the womens' sides, which finished in a competitive 2-2 draw, before the Marlow men's team ran out 4-1 winners in their clash.
Graham Sweet, Marlow's retired chairman wrote on the club's website: “Hils was a person who has done so much for Marlow hockey and it is right that we should commemorate him this way.”
All match fees were donated to Farrar-Hockley’s chosen charity, Hockey for Heroes, which helps to raise funds for Help for Heroes through the use of Hockey. Hils’s widow, Kim, presented the trophy to Marlow and it is hoped the fixture will become an annual event.
