Maidenhead Hockey Club will host a series of hockey camps during the school half-term holidays early next month.
The training camps are for members and non-members alike and will take place on Wednesday, June 2, Thursday, June 3, and Friday, June 4 at Altwood School. The fun two-hour sessions will focus on improving and developing new skills and techniques.
The camps will be led by club coach David Joshua, with support from the club’s wider coaching crew. David has a wealth of coaching experience, having worked with the South African Hockey Association for the past five years.
He said: “The hockey training camps are always great fun and provide an excellent opportunity for both members and non-members of the Club to develop their existing skills, in a fun and relaxed environment. We have run similar sessions before and they always get great feedback. I’d encourage anyone with an interest in the sport to book a session and come and join us.”
The following sessions will be available daily: 9.30am-11.30am for 10-year-olds and under; 12.15pm-2.15pm for 11-year-olds and over and 2.30pm-3.30pm will be for a specialist skills session with a different theme each day, for example, drag flick, overhead, disguised pass. A maximum of 20 places will be available for this session with priority given to those attending the 12.15pm session.
The cost will be £20 per two-hour session with an extra £10 to attend the specialist skills session.
