Maidenhead United’s outgoings continued this week as Ayo Obileye left the club to join league rivals Ebbsfleet United while Ryan Bird also departed York Road to make the move to Slough Town.
Obileye made 37 appearances last season for the Magpies, scoring four times, including a goal on what proved to be his last appearance for the club on the final day of the season against Chesterfield.
The versatile centre-half, who also can also play in midfield, joins the Fleet as manager Gary Hills’ first signing and became yet another name to depart York Road during the close season with Nana Owusu, Adrian Clifton, Carl Pentney, Harold Odametey and Max Worsfold already moving on.
Striker Ryan Bird also said his goodbyes as he made the move to local rivals Slough Town, joining former Magpie Worsfold at Arbour Park.
The former Portsmouth and Dover Athletic forward joins the Rebels after making 26 appearances for Maidenhead in the National League last season, scoring once as injuries hindered his appearances.
There was some good news for Maidenhead fans as Remy Clerima, Ryan Upward, Josh Kelly and Brad Keetch all extended their contracts at York Road for the 2019/20 season.
