New National League season to kick off on October 3

The new National League season is set to get underway from Saturday, October 3, with a proposed end date of Saturday, May 29.

The league’s board met last week to determine the start date for the new season, and sides in the North and South divisions will also get back to competitive action on October 3, in FA Cup second qualifying round ties.

National League Premier sides are set to play 46 fixtures with teams in the North and South divisions playing either 42 or 40 depending on the final number of sides.

The end of season play-offs will follow in June, however, the scheduling for this is still to be approved by the FA.

It is expected spectators will be able to return to grounds for the start of the new season, but ground capacities will be significantly lowered to aid with fans’ social distancing.

Slough Town wrote on its website this week that supporters would be updated on this matter as soon as it had more information and was in a position to do so.
