MUSA to host closing AGM in Stripes Bar

Maidenhead United Supporters Association (MUSA) will hold their closing AGM on Monday evening, before members step down from their positions and the association folds.

The final AGM will take place in Stripes Bar on Monday from 7.30pm and members will have the opportunity to vote on how MUSA’s remaining funds should be spent. Some of the funds are ring-fenced for ground improvement works.

Jamie Buckland will also have the remaining stock of MUSA badges which will be available to buy on the evening.

Membership of MUSA has been shrinking in recent years and its efforts to raise money and be an effective voice for the fans hasn’t been helped by the pandemic.

In a letter to members, acting chairman Mark Leonard admitted it had been a struggle to get members to participate actively in running the association and attending events while schemes such as coach travel to matches has been consistently run at a loss.

Club CEO Jon Adams said recently he was saddened by the association’s decision to fold as well as the suggestion the club hadn’t done more to support its activities. There is hope a new MUSA will rise from the ashes in future and Adams added that supporters should feel like they’re well represented and that their voices are being heard.
