Pupils across Windsor and Maidenhead donned reindeer antlers and got their running shoes on to raise money for Thames Hospice.

The hospice held its Reindeer Run initiative for the first time this year with more than 3,500 schoolchildren taking part during the countdown to Christmas.

Schools and clubs set their own challenge or distance for children to complete with many choosing to run as part of PE or complete an obstacle course.

Each child received reindeer antlers to wear during their activity.

Pupils from Woodlands Park Primary School (pictured) in Maidenhead were among those to take part.

More than £10,000 has been raised so far.

Layla Pipe, senior community fundraiser at Thames Hospice said: “We have been thrilled to see so much support from our local community and so many young children engaged in learning more about the Hospice and how they can support us.

"We look forward to next Christmas with more reindeers running.”
