Two new players have put pen to paper to join Marlow FC ahead of next season. However, Mark Bartley added in his post on the club’s website that there’s likely to be some movement in the midfield area with players also set to leave Oak Tree Road.
First through the door is James Clark, who joins the Blues from Hayes & Yeading. Clark impressed on a loan spell from Wealdstone the season before last, netting seven times in 10 appearances before re-joining the Stones. Last season he found the net 13 times for Hayes & Yeading at Step 3. Boss Mark Bartley said he was ‘absolutely chuffed’ to get him for the season which the FA hope will get underway in September.
“Clarky was the number one target in the summer and us being able to get him on board has been the result of a big collective effort from the management team,” he said. “We know we need to score more goals and having someone with his proven credentials will undoubtedly be a big plus for the side.”
Another player to commit to the Blues is Harrison Bayley. The former Thatcham Town, Binfield, Highmoor Ibis and Bracknell Town midfielder last week became Bartley’s first signing of the summer. Bayley was part of the Thatcham Town side which won the FA Vase in 2018 and was also a member of Thatcham’s all conquering Hellenic Premier Division title winning side.
“Harrison appeared for us during pre-season last season but we were not able to get him ‘over the line’. He is a player I’ve long admired and with us having some movement in the midfield area which I will share over the coming week, to add someone with his quality is again moving the squad in the right direction. I’m largely happy with the squad and feel as though sprinkling some quality is an approach that will serve us well.”
