Paralympic star Chippington to be guest of honour at Get Berkshire Active Awards night

Paralympics swimmer and paracanoeist Jeanette Chippington MBE will be guest of honour at this year’s Get Berkshire Active awards.

Jeanette  represented Great Britain as a swimmer at five consecutive Summer Paralympics, winning a total of 12 medals – including two gold – before making a remarkable comeback as a paracanoeist, winning medals at the Rio Paralympics in 2016.

She will lead the celebration of Berkshire’s sport and physical activity award winners at the Hilton Hotel in Reading on Friday, February 15.

Following public nominations for this year’s categories the shortlisted nominees have been revealed.

Three awards will be decided by the public: Active Primary School award; Active Secondary School award and Community Club of the Year.

Coach of the Year

Volunteer of the Year
