The curtain comes down on the 2020-21 East Berkshire League Premier Division season this afternoon (Saturday), with the destination of the title still unknown.
That fate will be decided in a mouth-watering clash that will see second placed Britwell host leaders Singh Sabha, with the winners crowned champions. The game kicks off at the Chicken Ranch ground (SL2 2PH) at 2pm.
Sabha currently lead the way by a point having won seven of their nine matches so far. They thrashed Slough Heating Laurencians 9-0 in their penultimate match while, Britwell won their last game 3-1 at SB Phoenix thanks to a hat-trick from goal machine Ben White. The consolation for Phoenix was a goal by Bailee Kline.
In the Thames Valley Premier Division, Finchampstead secured their first title win since 2001-02 after beating Richings Park 3-2 away in a thrilling encounter.
Victory saw them move above Berks County by a point and they still have a match left to play. Berks finished their campaign by being awarded an away walkover victory over Wraysbury.
Cookham Dean finished the season second from bottom while Maidenhead Town will finish in mid-table.
MP Joy Morrissey has raised concerns after learning that a Burnham Health Centre patient has been unable to obtain a GP appointment despite ‘numerous’ attempts.
