Windsor & Eton were in the draw for this afternoon’s (Monday) FA Vase fourth round, after their third-round tie at Tunbridge Wells on Saturday was frustratingly postponed due to the weather.
Should Rob Webb’s side prevail in that tricky looking away clash, they’ll host Fisher FC of the Southern Counties East Premier Division in the next round on Saturday, January 17.
The Royalists had two supporters coaches booked for Saturday’s game at Tunbridge, but heavy rain during the week put paid to their hosts’ chances of getting the game on and the game was sadly called off on the Saturday morning.
The tie has been rescheduled for this coming Saturday (December 13).
Fisher managed to come through their third-round tie with Fleet Town on penalties on Saturday.
The home side held a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Kesna Clarke (5') and Lorenzo Duncan (73') but Fleet came roaring back in the closing stages. Hadif Darwysh (76') gave them hope with a goal in the 76th minute before netting again in the seventh minute of stoppage time to make it 2-2.
Fleet must have felt they had the momentum going into the penalty shootout, but Fisher held their nerve to win it 8-7.
Burnham weren’t in today’s draw, however, after Mo and Omz Bakali’s Blues were beaten 2-1 at home by Punjab United of the Southern Counties East Premier Division.
Two goals in the space of four first half minutes from Roman Campbell effectively put paid to their hopes of progressing.
Campbell netted the first in the 19th minute and then doubled up in the 23rd minute. Shyon Dennis, so often Burnham’s saviour this season, grabbed one back for the hosts in the 84th minute but they couldn’t force home a late leveller and the visitors clung onto their advantage.
