Rossa Ryan brought up a century of winners this year when riding Galaxy Princess to victory in the Fitzdares Restricted Novice Stakes at Windsor on Monday, writes Dave Wright.

With three non-runners, the Ralph Beckett-trained filly (4/9 favourite) had only three rivals and led throughout the 10-furlong contest, beating 28/1 shot Epidavros by one and a quarter lengths. It was the three-year-old's first win at the third attempt.

"It was great to get my 100th winner of the year aboard this filly before a big week ahead at Ascot," Ryan said on X. "Big thanks to everyone who has supported me and big thanks to my agent Steve Croft who does a great job."

The Irishman completed a double by winning the Fitzdares June Handicap aboard 6/4 favourite Metabolt.

David Loughnane's runner, who had won at the corresponding meeting last year, was following up his win at Leicester two weeks earlier.

This was Ryan's 10th winner of the year at Windsor, where he is now the leading jockey, moving above Oisin Murphy.

Monday's Fitzdares Sprint Series Qualifier Handicap went the way of 12/1 shot Get It, who was back from a 101-day break after racing in Bahrain during the winter.

Ridden by Pat Cosgrave and trained by George Baker, the six-year-old holds an entry for the Wokingham Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

Salvuccio (11/2) made a successful return to the Thameside track by winning the six-furlong Fitzdares Windsor Handicap in the hands of young Billy Loughnane. A fortnight earlier, George Boughey's three-year-old had finished fourth after rearing at the start when William Buick was aboard.

The Simon Dow-trained Thursday (10/1) made the frame for the first time in five outings by winning the Fitzdares Classified Stakes in the hands of Silvestre De Sousa. The four-year-old filly benefited from being upped in trip to one mile and three furlongs, having finished fifth of eight over an extended mile at Epsom in April when a 200/1 shot.
