Slough Town are set to receive a major TV windfall when they host League One Rochdale in the FA Cup second round on Monday, December 4.
The game has been selected for live TV coverage by BT Sport and is set to net the club around £72,000 in TV revenue.
When the gate receipts are totted up it could mean the Rebels earn over £100,000 from staging the tie at Arbour Park.
The second round tie against League One Dale will be shown live on BT Sport 1 on Monday, December 4, kick-off 7.45pm.
The scheduling also means the Rebels name will be in the hat for the third round of the FA Cup, as the match will take place after the draw is staged.
Reacting to the news on Twitter joint manager Neil Baker said he was ‘buzzing; with excitement: “What an opportunity for everyone at the club,” he said. “Oh and we at least get into the third round of the proper draw.”
The FA Cup has already netted the club a tidy little windfall, with their first round win at Gainsborough Trinity earning the club £18,000 from the FA’s Prize Fund.
Ticketing arrangements for the game will be announced very soon through the club’s website www.sloughtownfc.net
