Slough Town face a £8,000 financial penalty after their appeal against sanctions for failing to fulfil fixtures last season was dismissed.
An independent appeal board heard submissions from Slough, and a further 10 clubs, for failing to play fixtures during a season that was ultimately cancelled and declared null and void.
The Rebels felt they had just cause not to play the matches on both financial and safety grounds, with the league not having mandatory COVID-19 testing in place to protect players and staff, and clubs being forced into a position where they would need to take out a substantial loan to complete the season.
However, the appeals board said it was wrong of the club to unilaterally take that stance.

Slough were ‘dismayed’ to learn the club would face a fine of £8,000, as well as a suspended eight-point deduction for next season after it chose not to play four fixtures just prior to a league vote which ultimately led to the season being terminated.
By that stage the club had taken the view that the season was untenable without grant support and a significant review of safety protocols.
The points deduction will only be enforced if there is a further breach by the Rebels, or any of the clubs that have been charged in the National League and National League North and South.
