Eagles u16s produced a dramatic 46-38 victory over MK Dons to seal their place in May’s National Club Finals.
Eagles knew that only a win would see them qualify for Nationals and having lost to MK Dons earlier in the season, they were determined to make sure this time things were different.
MK Dons started off the first quarter as the stronger side but Eagles battled back with some resilient play and solid shooting to take a 12-9 lead.
The second quarter saw more of the same as Eagles pulled away with some stunning plays from both ends of the court to lead 26-17 at the half. Neither side were letting up after the break, but the Eagles stood firm to stay in the lead at 38-27. Heading into the final quarter, the Eagles dug deep to take the match and the final qualifying spot for the Nationals with a 46-38 win. Player of the Match went to Becky Cooke for her incredible plays throughout the match. The Nationals finals will take place at Redbridge Leisure Centre in Ilford on May 4 and 5 2019.
