Boxer John Brennan said he feels in ‘great shape’ ahead of his Southern Area title fight against super welterweight Sean Robinson on June 29.
The Slough boxer, who trains at the BodyFit gym in Maidenhead, will face off against Robinson at the world famous York Hall in Bethnal Green and treated fans of the sport to an open training session to see how he is preparing for the fight.
“It was open as to give people a chance to see how hard I’m working for the forthcoming fight,” said Brennan.
“And also to raise awareness of Body fit gym in Maidenhead and the hard work Luke Corriette Trotter puts in to establish the gym as one of the leading combat sports camps in the area.
“His help for me in the last two years of going to Body fit has been invaluable.
Looking ahead to the fight, the 33-year-old added: “I feel in great shape.
“Training has gone really well with the help of my trainer Gary Dawson, my conditioner Andy Joicey and Luke at Body fit.
“I’m big for the weight, I’m strong and I’d like to think I can whack a bit, I hit people to hurt them and that’s what I aim to do on June 29.”
Robinson has nine victories from nine bouts, but Brennan is confident that he can get the job done when they step into the ring.
“ Nothing less than a win,” added Brennan.
“ He’s an unbeaten lad from Ealing but he hasn’t fought anyone of note other than his previous opponent who was very much untested, so I’m confident.
“I’ve added Andy Joicey to my team who does my strength and conditioning work and being a former pro boxer himself, his boxing knowledge is handy.
“Thank you to my sponsors AWCi, Gordon’s of Maidenhead and painting Precision for there continued help with my career.”
