Maidenhead United have been drawn to play Halifax Town in the third round of the FA Trophy, should they negotiate tonight's second round replay with Halesowen Town.
The Magpies still have plenty of work to do if they’re to get past the side three levels below them, after goals from Joe Ellul and Josh Smile were cancelled out by The Yeltz in a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
Another 90 minutes of football – with the possibility of extra-time and penalties to follow – is needed to separate the teams and see which will travel to The Shay on Saturday, February 8.
A pitch inspection is planned for 1pm this afternoon (Tuesday) to see if the replay will go ahead as scheduled.
The Shaymen booked their place in the third round with an impressive 2-1 win at Torquay United on Saturday, where Tobi Sho-Silva and Josh Staunton netted in the second half.
The winners of the third round tie, should Maidenhead get there, will net £6,000 from the FA’s Prize Fund.
The third round tie will sit in between tough but crucial away league matches for the Magpies at Solihull Moors and AFC Fylde.
The draw was made live on Talksport 2 on Monday lunchtime.
