Having gone five matches without victory in the Hellenic Premier Division, Burnham finally returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-0 win against Ardley United on Tuesday evening.
Goals from Jadon Moore, Dean Cavani and Gavin James secured the Blues three points to lift them to seventh place in the table.
The victory came three days after Burnham fell to a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Shrivenham.
Scott Chilcott’s first half penalty proved to be the difference on Saturday but Burnham will feel they shouldn’t have come away empty handed after having two penalty shouts turned down.
“We were on the front foot and by far the better side on Saturday,” said Shone.
“But two awful decisions from the referee not to award us a penalty and then give one to them was our undoing.
“The game could’ve been a lot different but that’s football and it was good to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night.
“It was a deservedly comfortable win and if the conditions had been better, we could’ve scored more goals.
“For once we got the result we rightly deserved.
“Overall I’m pleased with both performances, the camp is happy and we look forward to getting ready for the home tie on Saturday against Royal Wootton Bassett Town.” Kick-off is at 3pm.
