A second half brace from Maidenhead Town substitute Aleks Yankov helped the home side to a 3-1 win over Marlow United in the Premier League on Saturday.
Town soon got to grips with their visitors and James Rattenbury gave them the lead after 15 minutes, running from the half-way line before slotting the ball past United keeper Gibbs.
United switched their formation at the break and they were soon back on level terms when Qwam Thomas received a pass from Webb and fired home from inside the area.
For a period, the game was on a knife edge, but Yankov scored with a couple of brilliant strikes to seal the points.
Firstly, he skipped past three United defenders and placed the ball past a diving Gibbs before his deft header made it 3-1.
Town weren’t able to build on their win as they went down 2-0 to league leaders Berks County on Monday night. The result leaves them eighth in the standings. Berks County lead the way with 28 points.
Jean Claude Etienne scored twice as Cookham Dean played out an entertaining draw with Mortimer on Saturday. They were due to play Windlesham & Chobham on Monday, but the game was unable to go ahead and the home side were awarded maximum points. Dean sit 11th in the table ahead of their game against Cookham, which was due to take place last night.
Wraysbury Village are fifth in the league following Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to unbeaten Berks County. Stanley Anum netted twice for the visitors, but County hit back with goals from Harry Lee, Dan Money, Thomas Nower and Leslie Sackey.
