Maidenhead United Women’s intrepid fundraising campaign continues this weekend as a number of Magpies players take on the Tough Mudder at Henley tomrrow (Saturday, July 17).
The Women – who raised an impressive £1,750 to be divided amongst 15 local charities for the ‘Magpies 150 Challenge’ in 2020/21 – are pairing with The Link Foundation in 2021/22 and their first challenge is the imposing endurance event.
Magpies midfielder Katie Thorne explained: “The project we’re raising money for provides beds to kids who don’t have them. Some of them will be sleeping on the floor, some will be sleeping in their parents beds. Just £200 will buy a family a bed”.
