Maidenhead Hockey Club will be celebrating ‘Hockey Fest’ at a fun-packed, free event on Sunday, August 29, at the Altwood Astro in Maidenhead, from 10am – 2pm.
Hockey Fest, which is spearheaded by England Hockey, is a nationally recognised celebration of the sport, with events taking place across the county (hosted by local clubs) on an annual basis.
The event, being held by Maidenhead Hockey Club, is open to both club members and non-members and will offer access to a range of sporting activities, as well as a light refreshments for all to enjoy.
There will be a host of activities running throughout the afternoon, including a series of small sided games as well as skills challenges and fun trials.
“Hockey Fest is a great way to celebrate the sport, especially this year following the success of the GB women’s team, who picked up a bronze medal at the Olympics, and is always a popular event,” said Helen Todd.
“It provides an opportunity for our players, as well as the wider community, to come together to enjoy a range of fun and free activities.
“I would encourage everyone to come along and take part. Whether you're new to the sport or you’ve been with the club for years, there is something for everyone to get involved in.”
There will be displays at Windsor Racecourse and Legoland, local fireworks in Burnham and Twyford and smaller displays at schools in the Royal Borough.
