British Olympic medallists James Guy, Sam Quek and Denise Lewis have been signed up to play in the BMW PGA Championships Celebrity Pro-Am at Wentworth on Wednesday, September 8.

Team GB swimmer Guy, who linked up with Maidenhead’s Tom Dean, Duncan Scott and Matt Richards to win 200m freestyle relay gold at the Tokyo Olympics, is to make his debut in the Pro-Am, the traditional curtain-raiser to the PGA Championships from Thursday, September 9, to Sunday, September 12.

Denise Lewis OBE, who won her gold in the Heptathlon in Sydney 2000, will be targeting a return to the top of the leaderboard at the hallowed West Course, while Quek, who helped Great Britain’s women win their first ever hockey gold at Rio in 2016, completes the trio of Olympic heroes, having already played alongside both Liverpool FC legend Robbie Fowler and former One Direction star, Niall Horan, who’ll both be dusting off their clubs to play again. Also confirmed to play from the world of football are Sir Kenny Dalglish, Harry Redknapp and Gordon Strachan.

The tournament itself gets underway on Thursday September 9, with reigning PGA Champion, Marlow’s Tyrrell Hatton looking to defend his title from the likes of Tommy Fleetwood, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose and Lee Westwood.
