Windsor FC target more wins as they continue to climb up the table.

Windsor FC manager Mick Woodham stressed it’s all about picking up wins at this stage of the season.

The Windsor manager was pleased with his sides win against Ardley United – after the Royalists scored a late winner through Barry Hayles to pick up all three points.

“It was a tough game – they were a difficult team to play against.” Woodham said.

“We had to work really hard and we weren’t at our best. But it doesn’t matter how we play, we have to keep picking up the three points.

“I’m not interested in how we play, who plays or who we play, I’m just interested in getting the three points.

“We are in an advantageous position with our games in hand and we are winning those which is good for us. The boys have got targets so we just want to keep moving up.”

The Royalists have been in brilliant form of late, winning their last four league games – and it seems only a floodlight failure can stop the Royalists march up the table at the moment – after Tuesday night’s game against Flackwell Heath was abandoned after just seven minutes.

“Both teams wanted to play last night,” added Woodham.

“It’s always a tight competitive game against Flackwell and that’s what we wanted heading into Saturday – so I’m disappointed that we didn’t get to play – but there’s not too much I can do about that.”

Attention now turns to Saturday where only Hellenic League One West side Almondsbury stand in the way of the Royalists and a place in the final of the Challenge Cup. Woodham knows it will be a difficult game, but Windsor will not doubt be buoyed by the news that Dan Roberts will be in the starting line-up for Saturday’s match, after making his debut for Slough Town last weekend.

“It’s a semi-final so both teams will be looking at the next stage.” Woodham said.

“Semi-finals are a tough affair – sometimes they can be tougher than the final so we need to be at our very best.

“He (Dan Roberts) started last night (Tuesday) against Flackwell and he will start on Saturday too.”
