A team of footballers from a Windsor preparatory school have been crowned national champions for their age group.
St George’s School’s under 11s side competed in the Independent Schools Football Association’s seven-a-side tournament on Wednesday, May 10.
The competition took place at the Football Association’s National Football Centre at St George’s Park in Burton-on-Trent.
The best independent schools from across the country turned out for the event with Croydon’s Whitgift School billed as the team to beat after winning the tournament for the last two years.
After advancing from the group stages, the St George’s side faced Derbyshire’s Foremarke Hall in the semi-finals and fought back from a goal down before winning the tie on penalties.
They then toppled the reigning champions from Croydon in the final thanks to a brace from Elliot Dudko.
