Thames Valley Development League

Several matches fell victim to the wet and windy weather this weekend, but at u13s level, the Golden Eagles enjoyed an 8-3 win over Frontline Juniors to progress in the league cup.

With the wind at their backs the Eagles dominated the first half, scoring six unanswered goals, but Frontline were able to fight back a little in the second half and salvage some pride.

They scored three goals to the Eagles' two after the break, including a long-range free kick that arrowed into the top corner.

Mmoloki Chiwiyu and Harvey Gale both scored twice while Haris Qureshi, Jack Wickens, Daniel Carty and Rijad Krasniqi were also on target for the Eagles.

Two closely fought league matches were also played at u13s level, with FC Cippenham Leopards edging out Berkshire Elite Blacks 3-2 to move up to third, and Townmead Youth winning 3-2 away at Burnham Juniors Sabres Yellow.

In the u12s Subsidiary Trophy Burnham Junior Lynx Blue were convincing 6-2 winners over Cookham Dean Rebels, while Singh Sabha maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-0 win over FC Cippenham Panthers.

In the Plate competition, S4K Wolves cruised to a 10-0 away win over FC Cippenham Tigers but the Marish Wizards Blacks remain top after their 3-2 win over Burnham Junior Lynx White. Both teams benefitted from the strong wind as the Golden Eagles u16s drew 1-1 with Stoke Mandeville Colts in the Wycombe & South Bucks Minor Football League. In a tight game both teams managed to score from wind-affected free-kicks, with Mason Simpson firing home for the Eagles.
