Update: 12.15pm
Great Western Railway has warned passengers of train delays this afternoon (December 10).
Damage to the overhead electric wires between Slough and London Paddington left some lines blocked this morning but following a safety inspection of the track, all lines have now reopened.
A GWR update said: "All lines have since reopened with normal working resumed. The residual delays and disruption will continue into the early afternoon whilst we recover the service as there are displaced trains and members of crew across the network."
Train services running to and from Slough and London Paddington are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised until 2pm.
Customers have been advised to use their GWR rail tickets on the following:
Overrunning engineering works also disrupt South Western Railway services which is running a planned road transport operation between Ascot and Hounslow.
Therefore, GWR cannot use their services between London Waterloo and Reading as an alternative.
There may also be short-notice alterations or cancellations to train journeys across the network due to yesterday's industrial action and GWR operators expect trains to be extremely busy.
✅Engineers have now completed precautionary inspections of the overhead power lines between London Paddington and Slough and confirmed that services are able to fully resume.
