A historic hotel located opposite Windsor Castle is set to undergo a multi-million pound refurbishment starting this November.
The Castle Hotel Windsor will undertake a ‘multi-phase transformation’ to the tune of £9.5million and see a 'full refresh' of all bedrooms and suites and a rebrand of the restaurant.
Owner Sutton Hotel Collection announced the nearly eight-figure refurbishment will be completed by the end of 2026 and follows a ‘hugely successful reimagination’ of one of its sites in Bath.
Cluster General Manager Shaun Bowles said: “This £9.5 million transformation is more than just a renovation - we will be fully repositioning The Castle Hotel within the Windsor market and investing heavily within our brand, our people and our guest journey.
“We’ll be empowering the team to be imaginative and curate personalised experiences for the guest.
“We will also be focusing on delivering a first-class British restaurant and elevating our afternoon tea to appeal to the 12million tourists that visit Windsor every year”.
Working with interior designers like 3D Reid, the hotel will be ‘redefined’ with new bedrooms, refreshed public spaces and upgraded guest amenities spanning the Mews and Park Wing.
This will also involve a redesign of the ground floor and the launch of a new British brasserie concept in the restaurant.
The new interiors will combine ‘classic elegance with contemporary comfort’, and celebrate the hotel’s heritage dating back to 1528.
A significant aspect of the investment also includes the team, which will be expanded and developed for an 'enhanced' guest service.
The programme will start in November and run throughout next year, with completion scheduled towards the end of 2026.
