Tributes to ‘incredibly warm and kind-hearted’ father who died in Furnival Avenue

The family of a man who died in Furnival Avenue have said he will leave behind a ‘legacy of love and generosity’.

Police launched a murder investigation following the death of 54-year-old Surahata Camara on Thursday, January 30.

Officers arrested two men, aged 46 and 54, on suspicion of murder and they have since been released on bail while the force continues its investigation.

The wife of Mr Camara described him as a person with ‘compassion, humour and wisdom’.

A statement said: “Sura was an incredibly warm and kind-hearted person. His personality was a perfect blend of compassion, humour and wisdom. He always knew how to make people feel comfortable and valued, no matter the situation.

“He put his heart and soul into everything he did. His enthusiasm was contagious and inspired those around him to strive for their best.

“Sura will be deeply missed for his genuine kindness and the positive energy he brought into every room. His absence leaves a void that can’t be filled, but his legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him”

The 54-year-old’s children also paid tribute to their father.

“We will remember our father as the happy, positive and good hearted man he was,” a statement said.

“We had so much more to talk about and so many more memories to create with him.

“He always had the intention of making us the happiest children. For this he will forever have a place in our hearts.”

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Stuart May said: “We are continuing our investigation following this incident.

“Our thoughts remain with the family of Mr Camara at this difficult time. A scene watch has now been lifted and I would like to thank the public for their support and patience.”

The force added: “If anyone has information that may assist our investigation, please get in touch by calling 101 or make an online report, via our website, quoting 43250048919.
