Slough drug-dealer, 22, jailed after near £2k cocaine stash found in car

'Complete disregard for the law': Sajmir Halilaj has been jailed

A drug dealer from Slough has been jailed after police caught him with almost £2,000 worth of cocaine hidden in his car.

Sajmir Halilaj, of Moreton Way, was handed three years and six months in prison during a hearing at Reading Crown Court on December 11.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to five charges, including possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of criminal property, and using a fake driving licence.

Investigating officer PC Tom Hughes-Parry said Halilaj’s sentence ‘sends a clear message that drug dealing will not be tolerated’.

Halilaj was stopped by Thames Valley Police officers at around 5.30pm on June 12 this year.

The drug dealer, who was found to have no licence or insurance, used a fake Slovakian driving licence to avoid being apprehended.

He and his vehicle were searched, in which 46 cocaine ‘wraps’ were uncovered, worth £1,840, in addition to £3,955 in cash.

Halilaj was arrested and was charged the following day.

PC Hughes-Parry said: “Sajmir Halilaj was supplying class A drugs across Slough, showing complete disregard for the law and the harm these substances cause in our communities.

“This sentence reflects the seriousness of his actions and sends a clear message that drug dealing will not be tolerated.

“We remain committed to tackling drug supply networks and protecting our communities from the devastating impact of drugs.

“Information from the public is vital in helping us achieve this.”

Police have urged reports of drug-related activity to be reported by calling 101, the Thames Valley Police website, or anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers.
